Our BESCA Membership Saves Time and Money

We were one of the first companies to become accredited as a BESCA contractor company.  BECSA is the HVCA’s Competent Persons scheme as approved by the Government and it has been established to cover elements of the Building Regulations that relate to works affecting the energy status of a building.

It is particularly relevant to Part L of the Regulations, which is intended to promote the replacement of old, inefficient equipment with modern, energy efficient and environmentally friendly systems.

Using accredtied members of the scheme offers many benefits to customers as the new Part L of the Building Regulations significantly widens the range of work that must be notified to local authority building control departments for inspection and approval.

Failure to comply with this requirement “could expose the contractor, client or customer to prosecution under the Building Act”.

Our membership of BESCA allows us to design and install such equipment without the need for direct approval by local Building Control. We can then finally certify that this equipment complies with all relevant regulations which will save not only time but money too. The typical cost of submitting full plans or abuilding notice to local Building Control could be between £200 - £500. Comserve will be able to notify under the approved scheme for £20 per certificate.
